TEDTALKSGEMS will present my ramblings about past, present and perhaps future encounters of the gem kind.  It may be about travels, colleagues, stuff seen at our lab or school and will from time to time include shameless promotion of my endeavors.  Like “have your jewelry appraised at NGL”, or “Take my diamond class….please.”  Hopefully, I will present some timely topics for you to ponder if not a view that might incite.

I have three entities: Northwest Gemological Laboratory – one of the county’s first independent jewelry appraiser, Northwest Gemological Institute – providing quick immersion classes in gemology and the Northwest Jewelry Conference –  offering period jewelry education by industry experts to a small group passionate collectors, dealers historians and appraisers. This site is meant to bring them together and go a bit beyond.

You might have noticed that I am in the Northwest (United States). The beauty of the Internet is we can share information across the globe and I welcome your comments, Facebook postings, re-tweets and whatever medium awaits.
